Lyon was a Consulting Editor for the textbook titled Modern FORTRAN 77/90 by Gary Bronson, Scott/Jones Inc Publishers, 1992. He is also a former "Master Flight Instructor" for the US Air Force with over 4,500 hours of flying time.
