Where the jobs are

Graduates of the SIE Department find jobs in many areas of industry, consulting, and government. Here are some examples:

• Manufacturing in semiconductors, automobiles, aircraft and missiles, etc.
• Software developers and providers
• Telecommunication industries such as long-distance service providers and wireless communication
• Transportation: airlines, trucking, rail, federal, state and city transportation agencies
• Service industries such as health care, telemarketing, banking, etc.
• Military

Upon graduation some students have opted to go onto graduate school while others have started their own companies. Through seminars, advising, and contacts with industry, the faculty in the SIE Department actively helps students in securing internships and jobs. The Jobs Related Almanac ranks us in the top 10% of careers based on overall salary, satisfaction, opportunities, work environment, and job demands.
