A team of 3 SIE seniors - Paul Brunner, Krystal Lucas, Hemal Patel - recently competed in the IIE Simulation Competition at the 2004 Annual IIE meeting in Houston, TX. The SIE students were one of five teams selected as finalists in the initial round of the competition and invited to compete in Houston. The students were presented with a problem in the morning, developed a solution during the day, and presented their results that afternoon. For their efforts the SIE team was awarded Second Place and recognized at the IIE Honors and Awards Banquet. With the winning team being from Universidad de los Andes, Columbia, our students can claim to be the North American Champs! Congratulations to the team and their advisor, Dr. Young-Jun Son , for their hard work and outstanding performance.
