Welcome to INFORMS Student Chapter at the UofA

". . . it is interesting to note that the original problem that started my research is still outstanding - namely the problem of planning or scheduling dynamically over time, particularly planning dynamically under uncertainty. If such a problem could be successfully solved it could eventually through better planning contribute to the well-being and stability of the world."

--George Dantzig (1914-2005)

About Us

The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) is a merger of two former organizations: Operations Research Society of America (ORSA) and the Institute of Management Sciences (TIMS). It is considered the largest professional society of operations research.

Here at the University of Arizona, we hope to involve students in the fields of OR/MS in social and academic activities to bring the UofA OR/MS community together.

The club hopes to bring people in the field of OR/MS around the UofA together. Those who are interested in knowing more about Operations Research/Management Sciences are encouraged to join our activities.
